In honor of the great Greek actress
and politician Melina Mercouri
the Municipality of Tyrnavos in collaboration
with the film library of Greece, presents
at the Municipal Theater,
the tribute MELINA from 6 to 12 March 2022
on the occasion of the 28th anniversary
of the death
of Melina Mercouri on 6 March 1994.
As part of the tribute, some of the
landmark films
in Melina Mercouri's filmography
from the 60s and 70s will be screened
(Never on Sunday, Phaedra, Stella,
The Winners, etc.).
Proceeds from the screenings will be
donated to the construction
of a museum in the city of Tyrnavos.
